Danique’s hair salon in Leicester celebrates 5 years in business with a VIP drinks reception at the salon and then on to Hotel Maiyango for more fun and celebrations.
Based at 74 Highcross Street Leicester near the city center, salon owner Keri Daniel’s clients travel from far and wide for the experience of this popular salon. Working with top brands such as ‘Label M’ and ‘Cloud 9′ along with the highly experienced team they set themselves aside from their competitors.
You will often see Keri and her team take part in many major fashion & lifestyle events with the purpose built pop up salon, which has recently seen them appear at The UK Lingerie Awards, The Clothes Show Live, and Moda trade show.
Danique on many occasions have styled the hair of celebrities such as TOWIE star Jessica Wright, Maria Fowler, Daniel Lloyd, Danny Jones from Mcfly, Millie Mackintosh and many more.
As of April the salon launches the #DaniqueDoMondays campaign which will see them break rank with tradition and open Mondays, so keep watching for news on latest events.
I would like to say a massive congratulations to Keri and the team and wish you all the best

My first attempt at Rolo brownies didn’t disappoint. I used to love baking many moons ago (bc) (before children) and have recently started getting back into it, so you will see the odd experiment pop up here and there, at the moment most of the things revolve around chocolate and as I’m trying to cut back ready for holidays my willpower is taking a hit.
I melted 185g of chocolate ( I used Galaxy) and 185g of butter, I think it should have been unsalted but I had salted in the fridge at the time so I used this and to be honest they turned out fine.
I whisked 3 free range eggs with 250g of caster sugar.
Add the melted chocolate mixture to the eggs and sugar and gently combine. Then sift in 85g of plain flour, 40g cocoa powder and fold gently, try not to over stir.
I poured the mixture in to a 8 inch brownie tray which I lined with greaseproof paper. Then the best part I gently put the Rolos in.
Bake at 180 for about 25 mins, I did want the Rolos to be there after baking but they melted away, you couldn’t really see them, but they tasted amazing and was quite gooey and slightly chewy which actually was a real hit with everyone that tried them. I maintain they are supposed to be gooey and slightly chewy, thats the caramel.
A few weeks ago I went to the Loros Annual Fashion show, it was the 4th year this event has taken place and its was held at the King Power Stadium in Leicester. With tickets at just £10 it was a massively popular event. It was extremely well organised and I think all the people that do this from start to finish are so fantastic.
A huge amount of local businesses got involved which was great to see, and the atmosphere was great to be a part of.
Here is a list of just some of the people involved in this massive annual event, if I have missed anybody off just give me a nudge and I will add them on .

Next on my list is Secret Garden and what a little bundle of joy this was.
The name of this is perfect, Secret Garden, and it is just that, all in this small little bomb.
The beautiful bright pink and green foam fizz’s really slowly so you can make the most of your relaxing bath experience, it fills the room with beautiful aromas, and contains Rose, sweet wild orange and rosewood oil, …and then comes the secret…..
Flower petals and rosebuds emerge as the bomb slowly foams, now tell me what girl doesn’t like the sound of a lovely relaxing bath sprinkled with flower petals.
The end result is of course the green water, which some may be put of by, but I thought it was simply the grass in my beautiful garden.
The Secret Garden at £2.95 each is defo up there with the favourites.
Here is Avobath, one of the many Lush bathbombs I will be reviewing for you
This little beauty is fantastic, its pretty pastel green colour makes you think of spring, and the smell is very refreshing and uplifting.
This is a very fast fizzing bomb that contains lemongrass oil along with rosewood oil and bergamot oils that give it the amazing zesty uplifting aroma and sure packs a punch, it also contains fresh advacado and olive oil so perfect for dry skin.
This was like an instant mood lifter leaving a lovely fresh and moisturised feeling, it fizzed for quite a while and turned the water a lovely green colour, defo one to buy again.
Hi guys hope you are well, these are my latest Lush items. I will review each one individually as I use them which may take a while, as I am struggling to find time to get my post done at the minute, I have so many posts backed up in draft at the moment, so please bear with me, I’m sure I’m not the only part time blogger juggling work, being a mum and wifey and trying to do the odd blogg. This is why I say “part time” blogger, then I’m not putting pressure on myself to get posts out everyday, ………in the mean time my room smells amazing with these hanging around.
Bit of a different post today, I recently got the opportunity to take part in a ladies pamper evening to raise money for a local charity “Alex’s Wish”. The evening was a huge success, all 65 tickets sold out pretty quickly. On arrival ladies were offered wine (which was all donated by the event sponsors Aidan J Reed Estate agents) and canapés.
Lots of lovely stalls were set up around the room offering a range of treatments including, hair, make-up, manicures, shellac nails, spray tans (by me), the ladies would then make a donation to receive a treatment of their choice and be pampered. Lots of generous local people donated their time to make the evening such a success. An amazing £1,162.78 was raised from the event for research into Duchenne.
Lots of lovely raffle prizes to be won including a spa day at Ragdale HallStella & Dot
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a severe and progressive muscle wasting disease
